its really up to you as you know your kid, but I wouldn’t give my kid any violent games at that age, get him a football game or something.

its not as bad as other though as your not shooting people.

Well the way the world is going..(down the toilet) I would say ya it’s ok,plenty of shooting and violence, but no more then in any of our public schools

I am a halo crazed player… and I say that it would be fine for your son to play it… I have a 5 yr old sister and she plays Call of Duty that is slightly more violent… and she is fine and so are my parents… she is a very respectable girl.. they are going to find out eventually about violence… Halo is purple blood an dfake guns… nothing that bad…

hell no. the kid wont know how to play, he’ll get scared with the aliens, and there is some profanity and blood. unless he’s mature to handle all of that.

Well, the game isn’t that realistic so I would find it appropriate. Just make sure the 8 year old knows the game is completely fictional.

This is really up to the maturity level of your child. If you know that your child can associate video game violence seperate from actual violence then he is fine. It is the parents who let their underdeveloped kids play these games that end up with the (well yeah I shot him but I didn’t think he would really die????) Personally I have been watching violent horror films since I was like 7 so for me violent gaming was never a problem. And I have never hurt anyone. Hell…..I have never even been in a fight….

In the game, the enemies have blue and purple blood because they’re aliens. That’s not too bad considering other shooting games have blood. There’s no profanity to speak of in Halo (I think) either. The only violence to speak of is hitting the opponents with melee attacks but it’s not too graphical.

Still, my answer is no. The game Halo is made so that it can appeal to teen and older audience. Compared to most of the shooter-games, Halo, in my opinion, is the least violent one. My reason for saying ‘no’ is because of the addiction. A lot of teens I know are so obsessed with Halo that their school marks started to drop drastically and were point of being failing. An 8-year old would probably have a higher chance of being addicted. Instead of emerging the 8-year old in the world of games, engage the kid in activities like sports and clubs.
